Photovoltaic Power Plant Monitoring
We implement monitoring solutions that can detect any anomalies in time and ensure that your investment will bring expected returns in the long term.
A solar power plant is a long-term investment whose success depends not only on the quality of installed components but also on effective monitoring and management of the entire system.
Thanks to modern monitoring technologies, you have your power plant under control 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Professional monitoring of your photovoltaic power plant brings several fundamental advantages. Above all, it's about immediate detection of any anomalies and failures that could reduce your system's performance.
Thanks to continuous monitoring of key parameters, we can ensure maximum performance and extend the lifetime of all power plant components. Monitoring also provides accurate data for evaluating your investment return and enables early detection of problems that could lead to financial losses.
Monitoring enables optimization of produced energy use directly in the production process. In the case of industrial halls with large installed capacity, such as our implementation in Hodonín (700 kWp), professional monitoring is absolutely essential. Thanks to it, customers can monitor and analyze energy flows in real time, adapt energy consumption to available production, effectively plan energy-intensive processes, and minimize grid consumption during high tariff periods.
In practice, the monitoring system alerts, for example, to a decrease in performance of a certain part of the installation, which may signal panel contamination or another failure. Thanks to timely intervention, long-term production reduction is prevented and maximum investment return is ensured.
For municipal projects, where we often install photovoltaic systems on schools, municipal offices or sports halls, monitoring is key for optimal use of produced energy. Given that the operation of these buildings is often irregular (holidays, weekends), monitoring ensures that energy is efficiently used or properly distributed to other facilities.
Thanks to implemented monitoring tools, municipalities can clearly monitor energy production and consumption in all facilities, optimize sharing of surpluses between buildings (which is possible since July 2024), provide transparent information for the council and citizens, and ensure long-term sustainability of energy projects. Our experience from implementations in more than 30 municipalities shows that this comprehensive overview is key for mayors and councilors.
At Alternative Energy Systems, we are a registered partner of Fronius, a renowned Austrian manufacturer with more than 30 years of tradition. For monitoring, we use and implement the advanced Fronius Solar.web system, which provides a comprehensive overview of your photovoltaic power plant status.
Thanks to this system, we have accurate data about installation performance and can compare real production with predictions that were part of the project.
Most of our customers are pleasantly surprised when they find that actual production often exceeds expected values or is at least at 100% of assumptions.
Our implemented monitoring system provides customers with a clear display of all key data. On a real example of a photovoltaic power plant in Vlkoš, we can demonstrate what the comparison of prediction from the project phase with actual results looks like.
Prediction using PVGIS system (Photovoltaic Geographical Information System) based on analysis of 10-year sunshine data showed expected annual production of 300 MWh. After one year of operation, monitoring recorded actual production of 315 MWh, which represents 105% of predicted value. Thanks to this accurate data, the customer could better evaluate their investment return.
If your photovoltaic power plant is equipped with battery storage, monitoring also ensures optimal battery charging and discharging. Thanks to connecting batteries to the manufacturer's cloud, we can ensure extended warranty up to 10 years (compared to standard 5 years) and have an overview of battery status, which protects it from complete discharge that could irreversibly damage it.
For SOLAX battery systems or large TESVOLT container systems from the German manufacturer that we commonly install, quality monitoring is key to ensuring optimal lifetime and investment return.
Since July 2024, it's possible in the Czech Republic to share produced energy surpluses between multiple consumption points. This is an ideal solution, for example, for municipalities that can use surpluses from photovoltaics on a school in other municipal buildings, or for production companies with multiple operations.
The monitoring systems we implement are fully prepared for this new possibility and enable efficient management of energy flows between individual consumption points. In cooperation with the Electrical Data Center (EDC.cz), we ensure installation of necessary four-quadrant meters with continuous measurement and system setup according to your priorities.
Monitoring in this new configuration allows tracking how much energy you produced in one facility and how much you consumed in other own buildings. This overview is key for optimizing produced energy use and maximizing financial savings.
Monitoring of your photovoltaic power plant is an essential part of project sustainability, especially if a grant was provided for implementation. Grant programs usually require monitoring and regular reports for 3 to 10 years. Our team ensures complete administration including regular monitoring reports required by grant providers.
Monitoring is an integral part of our comprehensive service package, which includes regular system checks and inspections, preventive maintenance based on data analysis, optimization of settings for maximum efficiency, software updates to ensure security and functionality, and long-term support in optimizing produced energy use.
As a joint-stock company with share capital of 2 million CZK and more than ten-year history on the market, we are a stable partner who will be available throughout the entire lifetime of your photovoltaic power plant.
PV supplier stability is especially important considering the long lifetime of photovoltaic systems and warranties that reach up to 25 years for photovoltaic panels.
